A new post here as i felt i really had the post one. It are busy days lately and so much is going on at the moment i feel sometimes i even can’t keep up with it. But it are all good and fun things so no complains from my side here : ) So this post is also to keep things a bit updated along the way.
First of all i want to start with talking about one of my new designs called the Helios Hexagons. As i had a Scheepjes Stonewashed/Riverwashed colourpack in stock i thought of a nice and easy way to use them. After watching a documentary and dive into the history books i came across some ancient symbols that would symbolize the sun. Right at that moment the idea came to my mind to turn it into this.
Named after the great Greek sun-god Helios i really love how they turned out. At the moment the whole project and pattern is already finished but sad enough i have to postpone its release. I can’t give a reason yet and we all have to be a patient on this one for a while….but i assure you it will be released ! I’ll keep things updated around the Helios Hexagons so make sure you keep following.
As many translations are in progress at the moment for the latest two designs i made there will be a great range of translations available by time. From Dutch, French, German, Swedish, Indonesian, Persian, Italian, Spanish to Danish.( I’ll probably forgot to mention some other ones i guess ) All the people who are translating at the moment doing this for free and a huge thanks to them in advance. At the moment the German version for the Medina tiles and the Persian version for the Lotus and Blossom Mandala are already published. You’ll find the news about the updates here.
Then with all these translation coming i couldn’t wait any longer by creating the Facebook page for the guy with the hook. There is so much fun stuff coming along right now i guess Facebook was a must to do. As i am not a big fan of Facebook i know how handy it can be when sharing or contacting must be done. So its here and join the page if you like ! And with it came my new logo ! What do you think of it ?
Another fun thing that is out right now is the translation of the newest pattern of Mijo Crochet. Mijo designed the Tea Flower pattern and released it last week. I was able to provide the Dutch translated version and you can find it here. It is such a lovely and easy pattern to follow and it comes totally free. How great is that ?
And then we have the last update so far. As i finished the Helios Hexagons it was time to start a new project. Inspired on one of my first crochet patterns i made about five, six years ago i want to give it new life by extending it, rearrange forms and sizes. So its gonna be a multifunctional pattern this time. I started on choosing yarn options and came up with these :
I love working with the Scheepjes Catona and as it is the easiest yarn to work with when designing i did again make the choice to take it. The colours are inspired by the theme i have in my mind but i will not reveal it yet. That will be in the final results. I also discovered a new type of yarn i never had seen before : Scheepjes Spirit. As many others already have used it and I’m again slow on discovering new things i had a lot or reviews on the Spirit yarns. Everyone seems to love it but warned to not make any mistakes with it as it seems to be a hard thing to unravel it. So i’m a warned man for now and will only use it when the designing part is done ! But i love the colourways they have in it !
And then at last a first preview of the new design. Just enjoy this view and let yourself be taken in the dimensional heart of this pattern. Don’t you love it ? Soon more about this !
