Part 2
In Part 2 we continue working on the centre of the blanket. The market place where you will find all the spices, herbs, fabrics and a lot of other things. In this Part we create some arches which are very typical in the construction and designs most of the Arabian spice markets hold. Besides that we’re gonna add some unused colors to make it even more colorful and bright. Enjoy the next part !
Round 16 : Take Color D and attach it in any middle sc of a 3sc-gr. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in middle sc of 3sc-gr, 1SC in next 8 sts, sk 3 sts, CH1, (1TR,CH1) 4 times in next st, sk 3 sts, 1SC in next 8 sts. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in top of first st. SS to next CH2-sp. [8 sides of 18SC/4TR with ch1-sps between them / CH2-sp]
Round 17 : CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, 1SC in next 5 sts, sk 3 sts, CH2, 1DC in next st, (CH3, 1DC in next tr) 4 times, CH3, 1DC in next st, CH2, sk 3 sts, 1SC in next 5 sts. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [8 sides of 12SC/6DC/3 times a CH2-sp/5 times a CH3-sp]
In the next Rounds your work can become a bit out of shape or not lay flat anymore. This is part of the pattern and later on this will solve itself, so no worries.
Round 18 : Take Color C and attach it in any ch2-sp between the sc’s. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, 1SC in next 4 sts, sk 2 sts, 3SC in next ch2-sp, (3SC in next ch3-sp) twice, 5SC in next ch3-sp, (3SC in next ch3-sp) twice, 3SC in next CH2-sp, sk 2 sts, 1SC in next 4 sts. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [264SC/8 times a CH2-sp]
Round 19 : Take Color E and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, 1SC in next 2 sts, sk 3 sts, 1DC in next 11 sts, {1DC-CH2-1DC} in next st – this will be the third sc of the 5sc-gr –1DC in next 11 sts, sk 3 sts, 1SC in next 2 sts. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [48SC/192DC/16 times a CH2-sp]
Round 20 : Take Color F and attach it in any ch2-sp between the sc’s. * SS in ch2-sp, sk next 3 sts, {1TR-1DC} in next st, 1DC in next 11 sts, {2DC-CH1-2DC} in next ch2-sp – this will be the ch2 between the dc’s – 1DC in next 11 sts, {1DC-1TR} in next st, sk next 3 sts. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in the ch2-sp you started in again to connect. Fasten off yarn. [224DC/16TR/8 times a CH1-sp]
Round 21 : Take Color G and attach it in any ch1-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch1-sp, sk first st on side, 1SC in next 4 sts, 1HDC in next 4 sts, 1DC in next 5 sts, 2DC in next st, sk the ss in the ch2-sp, 2DC in next st, 1DC in next 5 sts, 1HDC in next 4 sts, 1SC in next 4 sts, sk last st on side. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [8 sides of 5SC/4HDC/14DC/4HDC/5SC and a CH2-sp]
Round 22 : Take Color B and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH5 (first DC + CH2), 1DC in same sp, sk first st on side, DC2TOG over next 2 sts, 1DC in next 12 sts, DC2TOG over next 2 sts, 1DC in next 13 sts, DC2TOG over next 2 sts. * {1DC-CH2-1DC} in next ch2-sp, sk first st on side, DC2TOG over next 2 sts, 1DC in next 12 sts, DC2TOG over next 2 sts, 1DC in next 13 sts, DC2TOG over next 2 sts. Rep from * 6 more times. SS in third CH to connect. Fasten off yarn. [8 sides of 30 sts and a CH2-sp]
In the next Round you will make back post sts. Take care to recognize the dc2tog stitches of last Round and make sure when making a back post st around them you take the whole dc2tog instead of the two single dc’s you crocheted together. This can be an easy mistake to make.
Round 23 : Take Color H and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH2 (first HDC), 2HDC in same sp, 1BPDC around next 30 sts, * 3HDC in next ch2-sp, 1BPDC around next 30 sts. Rep from * 6 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [8 sides of 3HDC/30BPDC]
Round 24 : Take Color B and attach it in any middle hdc of a 3hdc-gr. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in middle hdc of 3hdc-gr, 1SC in next 32 sts. Rep from * 7 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [8 sides of 34SC/CH2-sp]
End of Part 2. Weave in all ends after completing this part as you might have a lot of them again. Your work can still not be flat. Again don’t worry, along the weeks the pattern is gonna stretch itself out and it will be solved naturally.
