Part 7
Part 7 will be a real fun part full of color, overlay crochet and shapes. The shapes you’re gonna crochet in this part are originally inspired by the convex roofs many Arabian cities have. Many spice markets are Arabian orientated and have most of the time sacred and old places surrounded with these typical roofs. However, the shape is also a bit flower shaped and could also easily stand for fresh flowers in all the exotic colors available. Well, time to start !
Round 1 (RS) : Take Color E and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, 1SC in each st along side til next ch2-sp. Rep from * 3 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [4 sides of 176SC and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 2 : Take Color B and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH2 (first HDC), {1HDC-CH2-2HDC} in same sp, 1HDC in each st along side til next ch2-sp. * {2HDC-CH2-2HDC} in ch2-sp, 1HDC in each st along side til next ch2-sp. Rep from * 2 more times. SS in top of first st. Put Color B aside. [4 sides of 180HDC and 4 times a CH2-sp]
On the next Rounds you will make a lot of FP stitches. Behind each fp st you skip a st on the current Round. This is also individually written down.
Round 3 : Take Color G and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, 1SC in next st, 1DC in ch2-sp of Round 1 ( see photo 3 ) , sk st, 1SC in next 11 sts, 1FPTR around st beneath it on Round 1, sk st, 1SC in next st, (1SC in next st, 1FPTR around st beneath it on Round 1, sk st, 1SC in next 11 sts, 1FPTR around st beneath it on Round 1, sk st, 1SC in next st) 10 times, 1SC in next st, 1FPTR around st beneath it on Round 1, sk st, 1SC in next 11 sts, 1DC in ch2-sp on Round 1, sk st, 1SC in next st. Rep from * 3 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [4 sides of 158SC/2DC/22FPTR and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 4 : Draw up Color B in nearest ch2-sp. CH4 (first HDC + CH2), 1HDC in same sp, 1HDC in each st along side til next ch2-sp. * {1HDC-CH2-1HDC} in next ch2-sp, 1HDC in each st along side til next ch2-sp. Rep from * 2 more times. SS in second CH to connect. Put Color B aside. [4 sides of 184HDC and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 5 : Take Color F and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, sk first st, 1SC in next 4 sts, 1FPTR around dc of Round 3, sk st, 1SC in next 9 sts, 1FPTR around fptr of Round 3, sk st, 1SC in next 4 sts, (1FPTR around fptr of Round 3, sk st, 1SC in next 9 sts, 1FPTR around fptr of Round 3, sk st, 1SC in next 4 sts) 10 times. 1FPTR around fptr of Round 3, sk st, 1SC in next 9 sts, 1FPTR around dc of Round 3, sk st, 1SC in next 2 sts, 2SC in next st. Rep from * 3 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [4 sides of 162SC/24FPTR and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 6 : Draw up Color B in nearest ch2-sp. Rep Round 4. Put Color B aside. [4sides of 188HDC and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 7 : Take Color E and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, sk first st on side, 1SC in next 9 sts, ( 1FPDTR around fptr of Round 5 you just passed, sk st, 1SC in next 3 sts, 1FPDTR around fptr of Round 5 which lies ahead, sk st, 1SC in next 10 sts) 11 times. 1FPDTR around fptr of Round 5 you just passed, sk st, 1SC in next 3 sts, 1FPDTR around fptr of Round 5 which lies ahead, sk st, 1SC in next 7 sts, 2SC in next st. Rep from * 3 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [4 sides of 166SC/24FPDTR and 4 times a CH2-sp.
Round 8 : Draw up Color B in nearest ch2-sp. Rep Round 4. Put Color B aside. [4 sides of 192HDC and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 9 : Take Color D and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, sk first st on side, 1SC in next 12 sts, (1FPTR around fpdtr of Round 7, sk st, 1SC in next st, 1FPTR around fpdtr of Round 7, sk st, 1SC in next 12 sts) 11 times, 1FPTR around fpdtr of Round 7, sk st, 1SC in next st, 1FPTR around fpdtr of Round 7, sk st, 1SC in next 10 sts, 2SC in next st. Rep from * 3 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [4 sides of 170SC/24FPTR and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 10 : Draw up Color B in nearest ch2-sp. Rep Round 4. Put Color B aside. [4 sides of 196HDC and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 11 : Take Color C and attach it in any ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, sk first st on side, 1SC in next 15 sts, (1FPTR2TOG over next 2 fptr of Round 9, sk st, 1SC in next 14 sts) 11 times, 1FPTR2TOG over next 2 fptr of Round 9, sk st, 1SC in next 13 sts, 2SC in next st. Rep from * 3 more times. SS in top of first st. Fasten off yarn. [4 sides of 186SC/12FPTR2TOG and 4 times a CH2-sp]
Round 12 : Draw up Color B in nearest ch2-sp. CH1 (doesn’t count as st), * {1SC-CH2-1SC} in ch2-sp, 1SC in next 16 sts, ( 1FPSC around fpdtr2tog of Round 11, 1SC in next 14 sts) 12 times, 1SC in next 2 sts. Rep from * 3 more times.
