You all had to wait a little while for this cute and fun pattern to be released. The main reason for the wait was the event I had to vendor, called the Knitting Days, over here in the Netherlands. I released this pattern there for the first time, and all kits and booklets sold out immediately. For that reason, it took a little longer to release it digitally as well. But hey…here it is!

Sometimes you just want to make things that fit a season in general. It feels like being in the moment and enjoying all that the season can bring. For a while I had this pumpkin pattern in my mind – I didn’t want to add another pumpkin pattern to a large database of already existing pumpkin patterns – but one that was technically and visually different. The end result is this pattern – a wonderful and very easy pattern to make three sizes of pumpkins to decorate your entire house for the fall season. And one benefit – these pumpkins stay forever. You can store them and re-use them next year once more.

General information about the pattern:
Yarn Requirements: I used Istex Lettlopi for this pattern in different colors. Istex Lettlopi is made of 100% wool and has a rustic and raw look, which is perfect for patterns like these to give the end result a very realistic look. One ball of Lettlopi is 50 grams and has a length of 100 meters. I used colors 1417, 1418, 1703, and 1704 to make a fun set of pumpkins. I created one large pumpkin of color 1704, one middle-sized pumpkin out of colors 1418 and 1703, and three small pumpkins out of colors 1417 and 1704. Still, I had some yarn left to make more eventually.
Here is what you need for each size pumpkin in general – you could use any type of Aran-weight yarn or whatever – however, the amounts written down are based on the material used.
Needed for a small-size pumpkin – 20 grams of yarn (40 meters of yarn) and around 5 grams of fiberfill to stuff it.
Needed for a medium-size pumpkin – 35 grams of yarn (70 meters of yarn) and around 10 grams of fiberfill to stuff it.
Needed for a large-size pumpkin – 60 grams of yarn (120 meters of yarn) and around 20 grams of fiberfill to stuff it.
Crochet hook needed:
I used a 4.0mm hook for the entire pattern in all sizes.
Size: The finished dimensions for each size pumpkin are:
Small size: diameter of 6cm/2 inches – height of 5cm/2 inches
Medium size: diameter of 10cm/4inches – height of 7cm/3inches
Large size: diameter of 14cm/6inches – height of 9cm/4 inches
Other materials needed: To make this pattern, you will need some additional items. Some are practical; others will make it easier to crochet a pumpkin.
- Sewing needle
- Fiberfill to stuff the pumpkin (see the amounts used per pumpkin in the yarn requirements section)
- Cinnamon sticks to create a stalk
- A tip of transparent textile glue (optional and not necessary)
The pattern is built from written instructions, guided by many photos. The stitch work in the pattern is really basic and therefore very beginner-friendly.

Where to get the pattern? As usual, you can buy a digital version in my Etsy and Ravelry stores. After purchase, you can download a PDF in all available languages: Dutch and English (US).
For my fellow Dutchies there is also a Dutch printed booklet or kit available:

Pumpkin Parade booklet Dutch can be found here
And there is also a kit that include all materials to make these cuties:

Well, that’s it! I will soon be back with another fun and seasonal pattern release!
