Yes! It is time to announce another free pattern from my hand. As I had Some Scheepjes Skies Heavy left it couldn’t take long before i would do something with it. And so I can present the Windblower Case pattern. A beautiful case which I created to sleeve around my just new Ipad. However, you could easily fill it up with something else like crochethooks or scraps of yarn. Maybe a journal or a some precious items. I hope you like it and will enjoy this new pattern !
Yes! Het is weer tijd om wederom een gratis patroon van mijn te delen met jullie. Ik had nog wat Scheepjes Skies Heavy over en het kon dan ook niet lang duren voordat ik daar wat mee zou doen. Ik kan dan ook met trots het Windblower Case patroon presenteren. Een prachtige etui welke ik maakte voor mijn nieuwe Ipad. Maar hij is natuurlijk ook prima te gebruiken voor andere doeleinden zoals je haaknaalden, restjes garen of wellicht een journal of andere kostbare spulletjes. Ik hoop dat jullie het patroon dan ook weer mooi vinden en er gretig gebruik van zullen maken.
The name of the pattern is of course inspired on the lovely windy, spirals you crochet on the outside of the case. But as example i crocheted a special edition. The Rainbow edition to be exact. I felt it was time to make a contribution to #pridemonth. Last month it was America, this month it will be the UK and next month it is here in Amsterdam. As a part and supporter of the LGBTQ community i felt it would be a nice add to set this pattern totally in this theme. I think we need to respect, support and cherish each other in this world to make it a better place and with these things comes diversity and acceptance. Not only in the real world, but also in the crochet community. I think we all need to be who we want to be as we are all born in the way you present yourself in life. The big key is to live next to each other, not judging each other and most of all respect each other. Even if your not okay with it, but no matter who we are, what we belief or what age, race or gender we are, accept another just the way he/she is.
De naam van het patroon is uiteraard geinspireerd op de wind-achtige, spiraalvormige haaksels die op de buitenkant van de etui komen. Maar als voorbeeld haakte ik een speciale editie – de regenboog versie om precies te zijn. Ik vond het tijd dat ook ik een iets gaan opdragen aan #pridemonth. Vorige maand was dit in Amerika, deze maand is het in Engeland en volgende maand is het ons eigen landje. Als een deel en supporter van de LHBTQ community vond ik het juist een keer leuk om dit patroon hier aan op te dragen. Ik denk dat we elkaar moeten respecteren, ondersteunen en lief hebben om deze wereld een betere plek te maken. En met dat gegeven komt acceptatie en diversiteit. Niet alleen in de echte wereld, ook in de haakwereld. Ik denk dat iedereen moet kunnen zijn wie hij is want we worden allemaal geboren op de manier waarop we ons zelf later presenteren. De “key” is dan ook naast elkaar te leven, elkaar niet te beoordelen en boven al elkaar te respecteren. Zelfs als je iemand niet goed keurt, het maakt niet uit wie je bent, wat je gelooft, welke leeftijd, ras of geslacht je hebt, accepteer een ander en veroordeel niet.
Well so far the story behind the pattern. Now the pattern itself. It is a super simple pattern made out of Sc’s and Hdc’s. The only hard part is the surface crochet part on it. But…the pattern holds a good step by step tutorial to show you how to do this. It needs some creativity and graphic insight from your own but it isn’t as hard as it seems.
Tot zover het verhaal achter het patroon. Nu het patroon zelf. Het is een super simpel patroon gemaakt uit vasten en halve stokjes. Het enige moeilijke zou het haken op het oppervlakte van het werk kunnen zijn. Maar…het patroon heeft een goede stap voor stap fotosectie welke je laat zien hoe dit te doen. Uiteraard is een beetje creativiteit en inzicht benodigd vanuit jezelf. Maar het ziet er moeilijker uit dan dat het is.
The pattern needs a 6,0mm crochet hook and a hank of Scheepjes Skies Heavy. Besides that you need some scraps of Scheepjes Catona. The finished size of the case will be approx. 25 x 20 cm / 10 inches x 8 inches.
Voor het patroon is een 6,0mm haaknaald nodig en een streng Scheepjes Skies Heavy. Naast dat heb je enkel wat restjes Scheepjes Catona nodig. Het uiteindelijke formaat van de etui is ongeveer 25 x 20 cm.
