Gallery is retiring and all the patterns are digitalized…

After selling thousands of copies of my second book; Gallery, it is time for this title to retire. It has been out in the world for two years and to all good things comes an end. Honestly, I am happy so many people have been happy with the book and most of the patterns out of the book are made very often by many of you. But…it is also a good thing it comes to an end, as behind the scenes the book didn’t leave a very pretty memory. Sometimes you make the wrong choices by trusting people and storing that trust and your lifework in others’ hands….with a not-so-well outcome.

After two years, the end is near and it is time for Gallery to live on through my own stores in a digital way. There are still copies left out there in the world, but slowly, things will get out of stock, and once stockings are done, no physical item is available any longer. I have been working hard on digitalizing the patterns out of the book and getting them out there on Ravelry and Etsy as digital PDF files. I can happily announce it is done.

On both Ravelry – and Etsy, all twelve patterns out of Gallery are now available as a digital purchase. You can buy the patterns individually – but also still as an e-book. In this way, Gallery is now available to all, even if you only want a single pattern out of the book.

Some questions answered about this update:

  • I got the question lately if any owner of the physical book will now have access to these digital patterns as well. The answer is no. I can’t check who really is the owner of a book and who isn’t. Besides, having a hard copy also gives the opportunity to take a photo out of the book or even scan pages in. You can make your own digital content out of it for personal use.
  • The digital files are a bit different from the original book chapters. As the book held a lot of colored pages and graphic designing, it would be horrible to print a file like that. So, I have made a print-friendly file with all the same information about a pattern you also get in the book. This means written instructions, charts, all general information, and even some other parts of the book that are relevant.
  • The pricing of the individual patterns is actually in line with the regular e-book pricing. However, when you want to purchase the e-book version, which includes all 12 patterns, a discount of approx. 45% is taken off the price. This is already calculated in the pricing.
  • There were some typos and errata in the first edition of Gallery. These digital files have made all these changes, so the patterns are fully up to date.

So, if you’d like to see everything about the digital patterns in the Gallery, please visit the related pages, where you can find the individual patterns and the e-book.

And then there was one physical book left – my third one, Memory. As this book is nearly six months old, you can imagine it will still be available for some time as a physical copy. However, as the first two books are now digitalized, Memory will be as well after one year after the publishing date. So, this September, these patterns will also be available as a digital download or as an e-book.
