Every year, I try to create a winter holiday pattern with the spirit of Christmas in it. However, I also want to create a pattern that can be used before and after the period of Christmas, more like a winter theme. And this year, I have made a garland to decorate your home. My Northern Tiles pattern inspires the garland ā and, therefore, also contains little motifs in the Northern Light colors. The motifs hold a snowflake motif and are decorated with shiny buttons and pearls to give it a more festive feeling. It is a fun little project to create when you have less time and want some nice decoration for your home. It is a bit later than planned due to some sickness, of which I am still recovering, but although it is here a few days later, there is plenty of time to crochet these little and fun motifs.

I used a lot of scraps of Scheepjes Catona to create this pattern. Therefore, there are a lot of colors used. You can be creative and go wild with your own stash of scraps. However, if you want to re-create the exact same as my example, here is a list of colors used:
Yarn Requirements:
I used some scraps for this pattern from many Scheepjes Catona balls I had as leftovers. The amounts needed for one motif are not that much, so this is a perfect pattern for using some scraps. Scheepjes Catona comes in balls of 10,25 and 50 grams. The 50-gram balls have a length of 125 meters and consist of 100% mercerized cotton.
The amounts needed for one motif ā which exists out of 2 sides, are:
Color A:Ā 15 grams / 38 meters (including combining sides and sewing button on it)
Color B, C, and D:Ā 6 grams / 15 meters.
Colors used for my version:
| Which motif? | Color A: | Color B: | Color C: | Color D: |
| Blue motif | 106 Snowwhite | 173 Bluebell | 261 Capri Blue | 527 Midnight |
| Dark Purple motif | 106 Snowwhite | 240 Amethyst | 113 Delphinium | 521 Deep Violet |
| Light Purple motif | 106 Snowwhite | 251 Garden Rose | 128 Tyrian Purple | 394 Shadow purple |
| Dark green motif | 106 Snowwhite | 402 Silver green | 528 Silver blue | 401 Dark Teal |
| Light green motif | 106 Snowwhite | 513 Apple Granny | 389 Apple Green | 515 Emerald |
I made three blue motifs and of all other color versions one motif.

Some other important information before you want to start this pattern might be:
Other materials needed:
For each motif, you will need two buttons in size ā24ā. This can be any button and doesnāt need a specific type. As I made seven motifs, I used 14 buttons in total. To finish the garland, I used a pearl bead size ā12ā between each motif and at the end and the beginning of the garland. So, I used a total of 8 pearl beads as well. And, of course, a sewing needle is also needed.
I used some fiberfill to fill up the motifs a bit. About 50 grams of fiberfill is enough for seven motifs as they donāt need to be filled up very tight
Crochet hook: 2.5mm
Size: A finished side or completed motif will measure 8-9 cm in diameter/ 3-3.5 inches.
The total garment will measure approxā100 cm in length/ 25 inches in length measured from beginning to end.
All stitches used in this pattern are regular crochet stitches. It is a small project which perfectly works up between different jobs.

And where to get the pattern? As usual, you can purchase the pattern through my Ravelry or Etsy shop. You can find the links right under here. After purchase, you can download a digital PDF file in all available languages – which are English (US) and Dutch for now.
